Surya Spa is a Los Angeles-based luxury wellness spa that specialises in personalised Ayurvedic treatments, attracting celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Kim Kardashian, and Jennifer Aniston.

As part of the Verb Brands team, I oversaw the redesign of Surya Spa's Shopify website. Beginning with a web audit, we implemented a series of enhancements, introducing new key features to increase conversion.

Unique standing in Luxury

Surya's products are uniquely positioned as natural products in the growing luxury segment, filling a relatively empty niche while remaining competitively priced.



Surya's core audience is 80% women (with a growing male segment), aged 28 to 65, open-minded, wellness-oriented, and looking for something natural, luxurious, and effective.



This data had a significant impact on how we designed, with the focus on providing users with routes to help them find exactly the products they needed.

To increase user engagement and conversions, we proposed the following:

Content Optimisation

Adding more information to the hero section for new users who may not be familiar with Surya Spa. This aimed to make a better first impression and educate potential customers.

Product Introductions

We introduced the products with brief descriptions that highlighted key ingredients and benefits that resonated with the target audience.

Product Category Carousels

Adding product category carousels to the site's first few folds to inform users about the variety of products available at a glance.

Optimised Product Archive Filters

Given the ingredient-conscious audience, we improved the product archive filters to help users find exactly what they needed more quickly.

Mini Cart Restructuring

We restructured the mini cart to encourage users to add upsells and complete purchases by providing competitive delivery options.
